Digital Letters of Authorization

Equinix supports Digital Letters of Authorization (LOA) to provide a rapid, trusted, automated authorization system. This enables users to connect to partners faster and more efficiently, with enhanced security. Using a Digital LOA secures assets for connections, verifies data, and simplifies communication between peers.

Digital LOA 2023.2 is available April, 2023.

This release of Digital LOA offers our A-side customers a simple, efficient way to create new Cross Connect connections.

A-side Email Includes Link for Creating New Cross Connects

After Z-side users create an LOA using the Digital LOA Manager, their A-side contacts receive an email notification. This email now contains a direct link that enables A-side contacts to set up a new Cross Connect. This link is activated after the new LOA is moved to Ready to Use status.

Unified Cross Connects Portal with the New Scheduler

Digital LOA 2022.6 is available December, 2022.

This initial release of Digital LOA functionality offers a rapid, trusted, automated way to handle authorizations for connections inside Equinix IBX data centers. Users can access Digital LOAs through an online graphical user interface (GUI), or through RESTful APIs.

Direct Asset Allocation

Data that users provide in each Digital LOA is verified by Equinix. This ensures accurate, direct allocation of assets in an IBX data center. Provisioning can be completed quickly and securely.

Secure Ordering of Connections

Only A-side customers who are eligible can use Digital LOAs to order Cross Connect connections. This ensures that connection and communication data stays secure.

Port Reservations

When they create a Digital LOA, users reserve ports for new connections in patch panels, without disturbing any ports that are already being used.

Digital LOA Manager

The new Digital LOA Manager GUI is available in the Equinix Customer Portal to help users request, view, and manage LOAs. Users can access information about both A-side and Z-side LOAs. The Digital LOA Manager handles email notifications to simplify the approval process.

APIs

Equinix Digital LOAs can be created and managed using dedicated REST APIs. More information about these API endpoints and methods is available.
